HAU GIANG COMMENCES CONSTRUCTION OF PACKAGE NO. 2 OF CHAU DOC - CAN THO - SOC TRANG EXPRESSWAY

On the afternoon of November 29, Hau Giang province held a groundbreaking ceremony for package 2 of component project 3 - Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway phase 1.

At the ceremony, Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee, said that the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project phase 1 is of great significance to the Mekong Delta (MD) and Hau Giang province.

Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project is of great significance to the locality.

The completed project, together with the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway, will form two North-South - East-West axes connecting Hau Giang with provinces in the region and the whole country, serving as a foundation for connecting with Tran De international seaport (Soc Trang province) to export goods directly to countries around the world.

From there, contributing to the development of modern sustainable transport methods, improving the competitiveness of the region and the whole country.

Mr. Dong Van Thanh affirmed that this is the first important national project assigned to the locality as the managing agency, so the implementation organization also encountered many difficulties and challenges.

The Chairman of Hau Giang province requested departments, branches, localities and called on people in the project area to continue to support and create favorable conditions for the contractor to construct. Thanks to that, the project can be put into operation and use soon, gradually completing the connection of local traffic infrastructure.

The Chairman of Hau Giang also requested the investor and units participating in the project to have a specific plan and progress for each item each month, closely following the progress of the Government's resolution and the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee.

Along with that, regularly check and monitor the implementation progress, and have timely solutions to handle problems during the project implementation process.

"In particular, it is necessary to comply with technical requirements according to the regulations of the expressway. The implementation work must ensure quality and meet the schedule. We must not only achieve but also exceed the schedule", the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hau Giang province directed.

Mr. Mai Van Tan, Director of Hau Giang Department of Transport (investor) said that component project 3 has a length of nearly 37km, with a total investment of VND 9,601 billion, divided into two construction packages.

Of which, package No. 1 was started on June 17. Currently, the contractor has implemented organic excavation items, construction of public roads, gathering machinery and equipment at the construction site, construction of bridges KH9, Xa No, Nang Mau 2, Thoi An, overpass on National Highway 61C... The volume of work is about VND 42 billion.

Package No. 2, after completing the procedures, the investor has selected the winning bidder, Trung Nam Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company.
