Even on the day of the Hung Kings' Commemoration (the 10th day of the third lunar month), work at the strategic construction sites connecting to Long Thanh International Airport never paused. Workers, engineers, and heavy machinery are racing against time, day and night, determined to deliver each project on schedule — with the most pressing milestone being the technical opening of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway before April 30th.

Across the key arterial routes — including the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway, Provincial Road 25B, and HCMC Ring Road 3 passing through Dong Nai — the sound of machinery resonates as workers operate in "3 shifts, 4 rotations," with construction running through the night to maintain progress. These are strategic projects directly connecting to Long Thanh International Airport, scheduled for commercial operation by the end of this year.

Component Project No. 1 of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway is currently the focal point of attention. Multiple contractors have mobilized maximum machinery and manpower to accelerate asphalt paving and complete protective corridors. The technical opening target of April 30th — set forth by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee — is being executed at full speed.

The Dong Nai Construction Investment Project Management Board has directed contractors to intensify construction, operate in 3 shifts and 4 rotations, mobilize personnel through the holidays, and accelerate nighttime asphalt paving to ensure progress. The project has now reached over 82% of completion, ready for technical opening and commercial operation later this year.
At Package No. 18 (Km0+000 to Km6+200), Trungnam E&C is urgently installing drainage culverts along the main route. The package has completed three-layer asphalt paving on the main route, achieving over 70% of total volume — with the main route itself now over 80% complete.

Auxiliary works including guardrail installation, median barriers, anti-glare nets, road markings, traffic safety systems, and concrete shoulders are also being rapidly finalized.

At the Phung Hung Road – Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway intersection (Tam Phuoc Ward), construction of the pedestrian overpass is being expedited. Over 40 workers, engineers, and supervisors are urgently assembling steel frames and preparing to pour concrete for the remaining sections of the bridge — a critical component that directly affects the project's opening timeline.
Mr. Le Van Lanh, a worker from Quang Ngai province on site, shared: "During this holiday, our construction team has set aside our family plans to complete our part of the project. Working through the holiday means additional income, so everyone is giving their best."

Contractor leadership confirmed that beyond reinforcing nighttime construction, units are mobilizing workers and engineers to operate through Sundays and public holidays. Workers receive allowances and bonuses in accordance with regulations, providing motivation to deliver the work.

On April 9th, the Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut, personally inspected the construction progress of Component Project No. 1 of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway and set the goal of technically opening the route by the end of April.

Beyond the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway, the construction site of Provincial Road 25B — connecting Cat Lai Ferry to Long Thanh Airport — is also bustling with activity. Dozens of dump trucks carrying stone and materials, alongside cranes, bulldozers, and rollers, are in continuous operation. The 9.2-km road upgrade project, with a total investment of nearly VND 1,500 billion, has reached approximately 50% of construction volume. Contractors have committed to additional shifts, operating through both the Hung Kings' Commemoration and the upcoming April 30th holiday.

Similarly, on the HCMC Ring Road 3 project passing through Nhon Trach and Phuoc An communes (Dong Nai) — spanning over 11 km — construction units are accelerating to complete remaining auxiliary works, including protective fencing and road shoulders.

With Long Thanh International Airport scheduled for commercial operation by the end of this year, the Ministry of Construction has directed project investors and the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to fast-track connecting routes, ensuring infrastructure synchronization when the airport becomes operational.
