This milestone also officially places Trung Nam Ca Na International Port on the maritime map for industrial equipment handling, gradually forming a complete value chain, enhancing competitiveness, and helping both domestic and international enterprises optimize their supply chains while reducing costs and transit times.
First Vessel Carrying Wind Turbine Equipment
The first ship to dock was ESHIP 1, a German-flagged vessel that departed from Sines Port in Portugal. The ship carried a total of 51 wind turbine blades and 204 auxiliary components for the wind power sector, manufactured by the German energy giant Enercon.
This event marks not only the first heavy-lift vessel to arrive at the port in 2025, but also a strong commitment to improving operational efficiency and developing high-quality support services. The goal is to transform Trung Nam Ca Na International Port into one of Vietnam’s key industrial ports, capable of serving global clients and helping businesses optimize logistics operations.
After docking, the 51 wind turbine blades will be transported by SMC Joint Stock Company—a provider of large-scale construction and transport solutions in the fields of energy, heavy industry, infrastructure, and oversized cargo logistics—to project sites.

Ready to Support New Energy Projects
The arrival of the first vessel with wind power equipment demonstrates that Trung Nam Ca Na Port is fully prepared in terms of infrastructure and is entering a new development phase. The port is poised to support upcoming projects under the revised Power Development Plan VIII (PDP8), including energy infrastructure projects such as equipment delivery for the Ca Na LNG plant, the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project, and offshore wind farms — all critical components of the renewable energy value chain.
In the upcoming period, under the national power development planning for 2021–2030 with a vision to 2050 (adjusted), the Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed the development of two interregional renewable energy industry and service hubs, with Ninh Thuan named as one of the locations. Trung Nam Ca Na Port will continue to receive investment to become a super-heavy cargo port, with capabilities to serve the offshore wind power industry, including components weighing up to 15,000 tons.
About the Port: Located in Thuong Diem 2 Hamlet, Phuoc Diem Commune, Thuan Nam District, Ninh Thuan Province, Trung Nam Ca Na International Port has a total investment of VND 5,600 billion. Phase 1, developed by Trung Nam Investment – Construction Joint Stock Company, covers a planned area of 85.52 hectares, including two berths capable of handling general cargo, containers, and bulk goods with a capacity of up to 100,000 DWT. The port is currently finalizing Phase 2 (Berth 1B) to increase its capacity for oversized and overweight cargo.
About Enercon: Enercon, based in Germany, is a global leader in wind turbine manufacturing and services. It holds the top position in the German wind energy market and operates production facilities in multiple countries. This delivery marks Enercon’s first shipment of turbine components via Trung Nam Ca Na International Port, establishing a new logistics channel for its projects and partners in the region.
