In the final days of April, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh went on a business trip to Soc Trang, where he attended the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of Soc Trang province as part of the 47th anniversary of liberation. During the business trip, PM Chinh met and worked with the locality and enterprises participating in the investment projects on April 28 at the Investment Promotion Conference of Soc Trang province in 2022.
Soc Trang is currently a locality with many programs to attract investors; this area has the potential to develop a renewable energy industry with 72 kilometers of coastline for onshore and offshore wind power development. This is also where the Mekong Delta region's gateway seaport and synchronous transport infrastructure, such as the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway, the Dai Ngai bridge, and the coastal road, will be built shortly.
The signing of MOU between Trungnam Group and the People's Committee of Soc Trang province took place in the Soc Trang province Investment Promotion Conference framework in 2022.
Trungnam Group also signed a memorandum of understanding to invest in several local Energy and Industry projects at the Soc Trang Investment Promotion Conference in 2022. This is the first step in demonstrating Trungnam Group's commitment to pursuing the goal of sustainable development by focusing on the strengths of localities throughout the country.
Trungnam Group contributes VND 50 billion to construct the Great Solidarity House for low-income households in Soc Trang province
Trungnam Group also contributed VND 50 billion to Soc Trang province to construct Great Solidarity Houses for poor households throughout the region. This is one of Trungnam Group's social responsibility projects, in collaboration with the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, to directly assist the poor in localities with housing issues, reduce difficulties, and ensure settlement and business establishment. Moreover, it will contribute to helping people step by step out of poverty and stabilize their lives. This project deducts a portion of the budget from the output value to implement social security programs such as building large solidarity houses, sponsoring education, health care, disaster relief, and contributing to the fund for the poor. It is a specific action to ensure that the "Sustainable Development" goals balance growth and environmental benefits while promoting corporate social responsibility.
During the complicated development of the COVID-19 epidemic across the country in 2021, Trungnam implemented three wind power projects in three different provinces, including Ea Nam Wind Power Plant in Dak Lak, Dong Hai 1 in Tra Vinh, and No. 5 wind power plant in Ninh Thuan. The Ea Nam wind power project in Dak Lak is the most notable, with a total investment of VND 16,500 billion and a capacity of 400 MW. All three of these wind power projects, in particular, have been commercially operated on time and with high-quality assurance. With this success, Trungnam has quickly risen to become the leading enterprise in Vietnam's renewable energy industry in terms of both the number of projects selling electricity to Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and total generating capacity. Trungnam Group currently owns 1.63GW of electricity, accounting for approximately 6.6 percent of Vietnam's total installed renewable power capacity.
