Launched from April 1 to June 30, 2025, the campaign aimed to support 2,213 poor and near-poor households, policy beneficiary families, people with meritorious services, and other particularly disadvantaged individuals across all 7 districts and cities of Ninh Thuan. Thanks to the resolute participation of the political system and the strong support from businesses and the people, the province met its target one month ahead of schedule (by the end of May 2025), exceeding the Government’s progress target by five months.
Out of the 2,213 substandard houses eliminated, 2,183 were newly built and 657 were repaired, with resources mobilized from multiple social sources. In addition to state budgets and national target programs, the campaign received over VND 45 billion in cash, VND 8.4 billion in construction materials, 24,000 volunteer workdays from the people and local forces, and over VND 53 billion in counterpart contributions from households, family clans, and social organizations — reflecting the spirit of “help with whatever one can.”
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Quoc Nam, Chairman of the Ninh Thuan People’s Committee and Standing Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, emphasized:“The campaign to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated homes is a major policy with deep humanitarian meaning, demonstrating the Party and State’s special concern for social welfare, improving people’s living standards, and working toward the goal of 'Leaving No One Behind.'”
