HO CHI MINH CITY AND 5 CENTRAL HIGHLANDS PROVINCES ANNOUNCE 558 INVESTMENT PROJECTS

On the afternoon of April 4, the HCMC People's Committee organized the 2024 Central Highlands Investment Promotion Conference with the participation of more than 300 delegates from the Central Highlands provinces and HCMC.

At the conference, Ho Chi Minh City and 5 Central Highlands provinces including Lam Dong, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai announced a total of 558 investment projects in the fields of: transport infrastructure, high-tech agriculture, processing, manufacturing, eco-tourism, trade services, logistics, healthcare...

Of which, Lam Dong focused on calling for investment with 217 projects, followed by Kon Tum with 157 projects. Other provinces and cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Gia Lai also have a significant number of projects.

Some key projects include: Tan Phu - Bao Loc and Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressways (Lam Dong), new urban area group 1, Nghia Duc ward (Dak Nong), solid waste treatment plant (Dak Lak), high-tech agricultural zone project (Gia Lai) and eco-tourism area, mud bath, mineral spring, Dak Lak waterfall (Kon Tum).

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan emphasized that the development of Ho Chi Minh City always goes hand in hand with the development of localities, including the Central Highlands provinces.

Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands provinces have signed agreements on socio-economic development cooperation in many different fields, on the basis of exploiting the strengths of each locality.

Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City will take advantage of advantages such as favorable geographical location, developed technical infrastructure, diverse and high-quality human resources, and a strong science and technology foundation. The city will play the role of a connecting center with the Southeast region, the Mekong Delta region and the Central Highlands region.

"In recent times, the socio-economic development cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands provinces and cities has had a strong impact on promoting production, product consumption, and goods circulation. Thereby, meeting the needs of people in the provinces and cities in particular and the Central Highlands in general" - Mr. Vo Van Hoan emphasized.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Central Highlands region possesses rich forest resources, with a forest coverage rate of 51.34%. In addition, this area is also known for its land advantages, which are very suitable for growing industrial crops. The Central Highlands is also diverse in mineral resources, including large reserves of peat, brown coal, kaolin clay, etc.


About 300 delegates from the Central Highlands provinces and Ho Chi Minh City attended the conference

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee hopes that businesses in the city as well as businesses from the Central Highlands provinces will learn about and invest in this land, thereby opening up opportunities for sustainable and harmonious development between the two localities, contributing to strengthening and further developing the relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Highlands provinces in the coming time.

According to the leaders of the Central Highlands provinces, the potential for tourism development in the Central Highlands is huge, with a system of lakes, waterfalls, and a rich flora and fauna. The sub-regions with temperate and cool climates here are also suitable for resort tourism. Therefore, the Central Highlands Investment Promotion Conference 2024 is an opportunity for the provinces to promote their untapped potential; It is also an opportunity to re-evaluate the strengths and potentials of each locality.


Delegates visited booths introducing products of enterprises from the Central Highlands provinces and Ho Chi Minh City on the sidelines of the conference.

According to the plan, the conference will witness the signing of 11 investment cooperation memorandums, creating a legal basis for future cooperation and investment. Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Dak Nong are the provinces with the highest number of memorandums.
