The workshop "Green energy, green hydrogen and carbon neutral industrial zones" took place on April 27.
The program is part of the "Conference to announce the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, Vision to 2050 and investment promotion in Ninh Thuan province". The event has the participation of leading organizations and enterprises in the field of hydrogen and green technology. Typical examples include Envision - one of the world's leading corporations in the field of renewable energy with practical experience from operating hydrogen projects; or IHI Corporation of Japan - a global corporation in engineering, construction and production in many key technology fields.
The workshop "Green energy, green hydrogen and carbon neutral industrial zones" will also welcome more than 150 delegates who are scientists and experts in the field of energy; businesses inside and outside the province to come together to discuss and clearly see the development potential of Vietnam's hydrogen industry in the near future. With the advantage of being a leading locality in the renewable energy market, Ninh Thuan has enough foundation and prospects to realize its goals as quickly as possible. This is an opportunity to show that Ninh Thuan is ready for a new type of energy in Vietnam such as hydrogen.

This conference was organized by the province at the same time as the inauguration of the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway with a length of 78.5 km, passing through 3 provinces: Khanh Hoa (nearly 5 km), Ninh Thuan (63 km) and Binh Thuan (nearly 12 km). The Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway passes through the wind power field in Thuan Bac district, Ninh Thuan. This will be one of the important factors that make this renewable energy center increasingly vibrant and valuable, increasing its attractiveness when there can be an international expressway - port ecosystem, green energy serving industrial parks, and a circular ecosystem formed in the future.
Previously, with the orientation and determination to become one of the national renewable energy and clean energy centers by 2025, Ninh Thuan has taken solid steps, making its mark with impressive growth figures in renewable energy, contributing 22% of GRDP and 29% of the province's total budget revenue, solving 5.5% of employment needs in 4 key economic sectors. In 2024 and the following years, the province still identifies energy and renewable energy as a field that is focused on development because the potential for this industry in the locality is still very large and continues to create high growth for the province in the coming time.
The province continues to focus on effectively implementing the "Project to develop Ninh Thuan into an energy and renewable energy center of the country" in conjunction with the "Plan to implement the VIII Power Plan". Approving resolutions on the development of the southern key economic zone of the province to 2025 with a vision to 2030; Resolution on marine economic development 2025-2030 and resolution on building Ninh Thuan into the country's center of energy and renewable energy by 2025, with a vision to 20230. These resolutions demonstrate the determination of local leaders with the goal of exploiting and effectively promoting the province's potentials and strengths in developing renewable energy.
In the new period, Ninh Thuan focuses on developing clean hydrogen production, which is also an update of new, breakthrough technologies to achieve the goals of carbon neutrality by 2050 that Vietnam committed to at COP 26 in 2022.
