MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT SURVEYING THE ANTI FLOODING PROJECT

On June 14, 2020, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development mission headed by Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep led a field trip to the anti-flooding project and checked the actual implementation items of the project in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Le Thanh Liem - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee with leaders of departments in Ho Chi Minh City attended.


The mission checked the construction sites of the control sluice gates of Tan Thuan, Phu Xuan, Muong Chuoi, and Cay Kho. During the fieldwork, the delegation visited the gathering area, complex and assembly of the gate gates of tidal control sluices, in Nha Be district.


At the field inspection of the construction site of the anti-flooding project, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep - Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development evaluated the project implementation activities of the Investor.


The scale of the anti-flooding project is to build 6 sluices, and 7.8 km embankments, which 6 sluices have 11 gates includes 10 gates and 1 valve (Ben Nghe). The project has a primary function of preventing tidal currents between large rivers, canals, and ditches in Ho Chi Minh City, contribute to solving the flooding problem due to high tides and supporting urban drainage.

It is expected that by the end of June 2020, the first 2 gates will be installed.
