CA NA GENERAL SEAPORT WELCOMES A SHIP WITH A CAPACITY OF OVER 50 THOUSAND TONS

On the afternoon of June 26, 2024, Ca Na General Port in Ninh Thuan Province marked an important turning point when it welcomed a ship with a capacity of more than 50,000 tons to dock, carrying out the task of loading and unloading more than 40,000 tons of granite for export to Singapore. This is the first time a ship with a large tonnage has docked on schedule, opening up many economic development prospects for the region.

After 40 minutes of deploying port techniques, the MV VOSCO UNITY ship docked at the correct location to prepare to load goods onto the ship on schedule.

The MV VOSCO UNITY ship, Vietnamese nationality, with a tonnage of 53,552 MT, docked at Trung Nam Ca Na port to load and unload about 40,880 tons of stone from An Khanh mine (Ninh Thuan) and transport it to Singapore. This event not only marks a new step forward for the port but also contributes to the development of Ninh Thuan, which has advantages in rich mineral resources and a strategic location on the region's important maritime route.

Welcoming large-tonnage ships promises to promote the connection of goods between roads and waterways, while turning Ca Na into an important cargo transit point for the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions. This also helps reduce pressure on seaports in the Southeast region and Ho Chi Minh City.

The process of ships approaching and docking at the port is about 40 minutes

The Ca Na General Seaport Project has a total planning area of 85.52 hectares, including two wharves to receive general cargo, container cargo and bulk cargo. The port has a scale of 25 wharves and has been in operation in phase 1 since April 7, 2022. At the conference to announce the planning and investment promotion of Ninh Thuan province, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Dinh Thien stated that Ca Na port promises to become a new-generation seaport, logistics and industrial center.

Welcoming many international ships and promoting economic development and trade is an opportunity for Ninh Thuan to become a maritime transit center in the South Central Coast region and an energy center of the whole country, contributing to the Government's carbon emission reduction process by 2050
