Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of VCCI, noted that while much discussion centers around Industry 4.0, overseas discourse emphasizes the digital era, and Japan envisions Society 5.0. To realize Society 5.0—the most advanced social framework—5G networks serve as the core, and smart city development acts as the main driver. Therefore, urbanization and smart city construction will serve as primary engines for future growth.
“However, we need more than just smart cities. Because smart cities focus primarily on technological aspects, missing the core element: humanity,” Dr. Vu Tien Loc emphasized.
According to the VCCI Chairman, a livable city or urban area is not merely a place to reside, but a living space that is beautiful, smart, humane, highly safe, convenient, community-friendly, and family-oriented.
“A livable home is not just a shelter where 'every storm stops behind the door', but a home where 'a storm of love' ignites. We must create living spaces that offer safety, convenience, and true happiness. This is the requirement for a livable environment—nurturing hardware and software, soul and body, connecting society, family members, and inner well-being,” Mr. Loc highlighted.
Particularly, the VCCI Chairman expressed hope that the trend of discussing smart cities will evolve into livable cities, as a smart city forms one part of a livable city. Ultimately, livability adapts to the needs and conditions of every social class—a small house, a neighborhood, or a locality must all be built into livable spaces, leading toward a livable nation built on values beyond technical infrastructure.
Representing developer Trungnam Land, Mr. Huynh Hai Son – General Director received the “Most Livable Project 2019” certificate for Golden Hills Eco-Urban Area.
