The Spring 2021 Launch Ceremony provided an occasion for Ninh Thuan provincial leaders and the investor to express care, encouragement, New Year wishes, and support to all contractors, engineers, and construction personnel working on the project. During the ceremony, provincial leaders officially performed the launch directive ceremony for Phase 1 of the Ca Na Port Area project – Ca Na General Seaport. Simultaneously, representatives from the investor and the contractors delivered speeches pledging strong determination to complete the project on schedule, ensure quality, and achieve the planned operational launch.
To ensure project completion as scheduled in 2021, a workforce of 400 workers maintained continuous construction on site, with 150 workers maintaining active operations throughout the Lunar New Year holiday. Bored piling works were carried out continuously over 3 shifts per day to ensure project progress.
Since breaking ground in August 2020, the Ca Na General Seaport Project has nearly completed breakwater construction, while infrastructure for the resettlement area has reached 90% completion.
Phase 1 of the Ca Na Port Area project – Ca Na General Seaport is located in the Ca Na coastal zone, Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan province, bordering Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces. The project spans a total planned area of 108.09 hectares, with primary functional subdivisions including: two 70,000 – 100,000 DWT berths, one 20,000 DWT berth, and warehouse, logistics, and service infrastructure zones. Completing Phase 1 in 2021 will lay an essential foundation for building a multi-billion-dollar logistics – industrial – mineral – energy complex in the future.
Once completed and operational, the seaport will facilitate production and processing activities for industrial zones and clusters operating across Ninh Thuan province. Crucially, it will support the transport and logistics of specialized equipment for renewable energy projects, such as wind and solar power, thereby helping establish Ninh Thuan as the nation's clean energy hub. Furthermore, the project will serve as a vital cargo transshipment gateway for the South Central and Central Highlands regions.
