On the morning of April 27, Trung Nam Solar Power JSC and Trung Nam Wind Power JSC officially put into operation Phase 1 of the Trung Nam Solar and Wind Renewable Energy Complex in Bac Phong and Loi Hai communes, Thuan Bac district, Ninh Thuận province. This marks Vietnam's first renewable energy complex grid-connected in 2019, setting a key milestone for renewable energy growth in Ninh Thuan and across Vietnam...
Attending the event were Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam; former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Kien; Chairman of the National Assembly Committee on Science, Technology and Environment Phan Xuan Dung; Secretary of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Thanh; Permanent Deputy Secretary of Ninh Thuan Province Nguyen Bac Viet; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Ninh Thuan People's Committee Luu Xuan Vinh; alongside representatives from central ministries, agencies, institutes, universities, and scientific organizations.

Opening the inauguration ceremony, General Director of Trungnam Group, Mr. Nguyen Tam Tien, delivered an overview of the construction and operational trajectory of the combined Solar and Wind power project. The annual generation output of the Trung Nam Solar and Wind Power Complex ranges from 950 million to 1 billion kWh per year, making it Vietnam's first and largest renewable energy complex (as of May 2019). Within the complex, the solar power plant has an installed capacity of 204 MW and a maximum annual electricity output of approximately 450 million kWh.
A distinctive technical feature of the solar farm is the INVERTER equipment and solar radiation conversion technology supplied by Siemens. The components are engineered to withstand ambient temperatures above 40°C without degradation in efficiency or thermal overload.

Other equipment and accessories deployed by Siemens achieve optimized compact dimensions, being lighter than competing brands. Most importantly, the technology provides high modular flexibility: with 18 semiconductors, the facility can directly integrate additional solar panels into the existing architecture to increase total energy output.
The wind turbine technology employs a gearless, automatic wind-tracking design developed by ENERCON (Germany), Europe's leading wind power equipment manufacturer. With this turbine design, the wind turbines at Trung Nam wind farm can operate smoothly at cut-in wind speeds as low as 2.5 m/s.

The Trung Nam Renewable Energy Complex, comprising both wind and solar farms, connects directly to the national high-voltage power grid via the 220 kV Thap Cham Substation.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Luu Xuan Vinh, Chairman of the Ninh Thuan People's Committee, commended Trungnam Group's investment in building the solar and wind energy complex in the province. Bringing this landmark project into commercial operation has propelled Ninh Thuận to the lead in the country, with 8 commercial solar and wind power projects.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam highlighted that the inauguration of Trungnam Group's solar and wind power complex represents concrete actions demonstrating Vietnam's, Ninh Thuan's, and investors' firm commitments toward clean energy development, environmental protection, and sustainable growth. Notably, adopting world-class technologies across these two projects serves as vivid proof of the creative spirit, technical mastery, and dedication of Vietnamese workers.
