VIETNAM BOASTS SOUTHEAST ASIA'S LARGEST RENEWABLE ENERGY COMPLEX

This renewable energy complex comprises wind and solar farms spanning a total area of 900 hectares, generating nearly 1 billion kWh of electricity per year. The project is located in Ninh Thuan province and invested by Trungnam Group.

On April 16, Trungnam Group, alongside central ministries, government agencies, and provincial leaders of Ninh Thuan, held the inauguration ceremony for the wind power plant in Thuan Bac district. The completion of this wind power project, integrated with the previously operated solar power farm, brings the complex's combined capacity to over 350 MWp.

The development positions Ninh Thuan province as the nation's renewable energy hub, with the facility becoming the largest renewable energy complex in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
According to statistics, Ninh Thuan possesses vast wind energy potential with 14 designated zones covering approximately 8,000 hectares, concentrated primarily across three districts: Ninh Phuoc, Thuan Nam, and Thuan Bac. Notably, Ninh Thuan experiences minimal tropical storm activity and steady wind regimes across 10 months per year, ensuring stable power generation from wind turbines.

Additionally, Ninh Thuan receives high solar radiation levels, averaging 2,837.8 sunshine hours per year—the highest nationwide. Low seasonal variance in solar radiation further provides ideal conditions for maximizing solar energy production.

According to the investor, successfully building a wind power project requires significant time, labor, and the implementation of advanced global technology.
Furthermore, planned wind projects are located in regions with complex topographies and harsh weather conditions, requiring significant manpower and extended construction timelines, making on-schedule completion a major operational challenge.

The wind power phase features a total capacity of 48 MWp with an expected annual output of 134 million kWh. The project also includes substations connecting directly to the 220kV Thap Cham Substation to feed power into the national grid. In terms of scale, the overall renewable energy farm complex spans 900 hectares, comprising a wind farm with a total investment of VND 4,000 billion and a solar farm with a total investment of VND 6,000 billion, featuring 705,000 solar panels. The complex yields an estimated total annual output of 950 million to 1 billion kWh of clean electricity.
